So lately I have really been into my health on the mind and body and this month we are talking about all things related to that. To Kick start this month I wanted to talk about some of my favourite Power foods and how I eat them!

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is so good to cleanse the body. Recently I have been mixing a teaspoon of it with a glass of water and drinking it first thing in the morning. It really sets you up for the day. 

Apple cider vinegar is thought to aid weight loss and is a powerful metabolism booster. It can also help with digestion and is recommended to people who experience inflammation, problems with digestion and pain in the muscles, joint or throat. Another way I like to digest apple cider vinegar is using it as a salad dressing. Just drizzle it over your salad and add a little salt and you have an healthy and tasty salad dressing.

Dark chocolate

Dark chocolate in small doses can really help speed up your metabolism and dare I say good for you. Let me emphasize the word SMALL doses, as if you eat a whole bar of dark chocolate it is not good for you. You want to make sure it is 70% coco or more and only allow yourself one square or two a day. It is said that dark chocolate can improve heart health, help cholesterol levels and blood pressure. It is also said that it helps towards preventing Cancer. Now who doesn't want to jump aboard the dark chocolate train?

I like to have a square of dark chocolate of an evening after dinner as this is when my sweet tooth hits. You can have a square or two on its own, or try melting it and drizzling it over a bowl of fruit like strawberries. This is a perfect dessert.

Pomegranate

I have only recently been eating Pomegranite and I don't know what took me so long! They are delicious!

Pomegranate is jam packed full of antioxidants. The antioxidants in pomegranate juice can help remove free radicals, protect cells from damage, and reduce inflammation. Pomegranate is a good source of fibre and also contains vitamins A, C, E and also Iron. I have been eating my pomegranates in the morning with some yogurt and granola. It is a real natural sweetener for your breakfast.
