Hey everyone! Today is my last wellness post for #wellnessmonthmarch. I have really enjoyed sharing all of my Wellness advice and I hope it has helped some of you and motivated you to live a healthier happier lifestyle. Wellness month might be over but don’t forget I post every Monday about lifestyle topics and I also post every other Friday all on fashion and beauty. On top of that I have started posting on my YouTube channel again and I have many videos coming your way! So stay tuned for that and also subscribe so you don't miss a thing!
For my last wellness post of #wellnessmonthmarch I thought I would finish it with 3 small changes that you can make today to help save our planet. We only have one planet guys, so let’s all do our best to keep it as green and clean as possible!
This one is an obvious one and I'm sure has been drilled into many of you for years. However, even I only started recycling recently and oh how I wish I had started sooner. This one small change can help the planet in such a huge way. Recycling our goods is not hard work and in fact, it can be easier to recycle as the bins are so much lighter and easier to take out! Since recycling we have found that our bin loads have halved and actually we have downsized our food bin to be small enough to fit under the sink as we hardly use it now. So our main big bin is actually our recycling one. I also love that feeling I have that I am helping the planet every time I chuck some cardboard in the recycling bin. One thing that really motivated me to start recycling is this blue planet documentary. It breaks my heart to see what humans can do to our sea life creatures. So try recycling today and do your bit to save our planet and all who live on it.
2. Save energy - Lights, petrol, water
Energy is spent in so many ways, is so accessible and is also wasted so easily. Every time we leave a light on, let the tap overrun and use petrol to fill up our tanks we are using the planets resources. Sometimes I wonder if we will run out of resources one day! At the moment that is not the case, but if we can prolong that outcome then why not?! Try turning the lights off when you leave a room and even try using energy saving bulbs. Try turning the tap off when you are brushing your teeth or doing the washing up. Lastly, try walking or riding a bike to places instead of using your car. If we all made these little changes then the overall well being of the planet would be so much better off.
3. Eat less meat
Ok, so this may be hard for some people (especially me being in a Greek family). However, hear me out, I am not suggesting become a vegan or vegetarian, only to lessen the amount of meat you eat. It is so interesting how so many of us eat meat EVERYDAY, sometimes even with every meal! However, our bodies are not programmed to digest meat so quickly. If you think back to cavemen times, meat was very sparse and we only ate it very rarely. A human diet is very much like an Apes and thrives on mostly plant food and only some meat. The ratio should be something like 70% plant based, 25% meat and only 5% other foods if necessary. (This is only a rough estimate). So do it for yourself as well as for the planet and its creatures. Eat less meat. Your body will thank you for it!
So I hope this post has motivated some of you into helping the planet, not only for yourselves but for our future generations and our health. If you haven't already then definitely check out the other wellness posts that have gone up this month. You can find these in my wellness and lifestyle category.
